So close, but still so far away I tried to make it feel okay I don't want to see all this misery But then I'll go Then I'll go And I don't know Then I'll go I tried to live so carelessly Too young, to not live gracefully I don't want to believe that you're killing me But then I'll go Then I'll go But I don't know There I go Oh my god

So, water's dripping in Pushing through the cracks of glass stained walls Reflections don't keep When you think they're pulling you apart I need to just breathe One in, let go You can see the lines as they twist through the halls And splinter in three Each one pulling back up towards your heart I wish I could see That I'm better I'm better young And here we go again I'm running down the stairs it's all my fault Man, what did you think When you tried to prove you were so strong The sirens just weep And that's it You're gone Now try to go to sleep and tell you you're wrong Ignore the clock, please Don't view it as a countdown for your fall And try to just breathe I'm better I'm better young

What did you say To your mother, boy Can’t you see, they just want to love you, boy Can’t know what’s What’s inside your head All I pray is that it won’t lead you farther Help me understand I am your father I see those sunken eyes, and I feel defeat The words I thought we’d keep, I hope they reached Just help me understand I am your brother I’ve seen your journals bleed, it’s incomplete You tell me all your dreams, we start to weep Please help me understand I am your lover What did you say to your lover, boy Can’t you see they just want to love you Help me understand

about

This EP is the result of a somewhat maddening writing, recording, and rewriting process over the last two years... I'm both very excited, and nervous to be releasing new music after such a long time, but also dismayed about the sheer amount of time that has passed...

Like my previous EPs under the Inspiraling moniker, this EP was played, recorded, and mixed all by me wherever I was living at the time -- this time in Brooklyn, NY. My brother, Russ, and dear friend, Joe, came in and helped flesh out some parts as well!

This EP was inspired by a somewhat... difficult time for me...
Though certainly insignificant issues in the grand scheme of things, I found the transition to city life difficult in many ways, and was dealing with some shitty landlords, and unexpected health issues :/

Nontheless, it's all good now, and this is the EP that came out of it all. Unlike my previous EPs which were more of a psych-rock type of shoegaze, this EP showcases more slowcore and ambient textures to try and more accurately convey the feelings behind the songs... However, whatever the listener feels in listening to the songs is more than valid, too.

For those that listen to this, I am so grateful. For those that don't listen, that's cool too. We're all on our own journeys :)

Deep thanks to you all, and see you out there,

Gil
